Apartment setups fail when the gear takes over the room. A mat, a roller, a compact resistance kit, and one strength anchor usually cover more than people expect.
The priority order matters. Buy the pieces you can leave out or store fast, then add heavier items only after the routine is already sticking.
A better starting stack
Treat the first version of your setup like infrastructure, not a flex.
- Start with a mat and roller so recovery has a place to happen.
- Add bands or a resistance kit for the highest exercise variety per square foot.
- Finish with dumbbells only when you know exactly where they will live.
